Clamping Equipment for 3D Freeform Surfaces

Workpieces with uneven, rounded or curved contours present a new challenge for clamping technology. With the Schmalz Basic Holding Fixture, complex components for CNC machining and measurement processes can be clamped without a problem. With the Suction Cup Balance SSCB, Schmalz has developed both a clamping system with precise positioning for 3D free-form surfaces and a gripping system equipped for automatic setup and simultaneous gripping.

Clamping Equipment for Manual Processing
The Basic Holding Fixture is used where three-dimensionally shaped parts have to be fixed for measurements, manual assembly processes or light mechanical processing. Due to the simple positioning and the two vacuum circuits, the system can be used with hose connections on any smooth table or hose free on steel plates.

Clamping and gripping devices can be used in automated processes for the handling and clamping of three-dimensionally shaped parts. The positioning pins automatically reproduce the exact contour of the workpiece and allow the same fixture to be used to fix differently shaped parts.
